Benefits Professional Development Responsibilities The Lehigh Valley Justice Institute (LVJI) at the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley (UWGLV) is seeking Research Interns to investigate the impact of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). FQHCs are community-based health organizations that provide comprehensive primary care, dental, and behavioral health services to underserved populations in the United States. Interns will review published and unpublished academic literature on the impact of these health centers on the populations they serve and produce a set of best practices. There may be internal presentations or presentations to local committees or organizations. We are hiring 1-2 interns for this role. We hope to answer the following research questions. What effects do FQHCs have on underserved populations in removing barriers to care, improving mental health, or even downstream impacts on financial stability, housing security, or food security? Do these effects differ by population? Do some groups benefit more from FQHCs than others, and if so, why? What is the current state of FQHCs? Can we identify any areas in the Lehigh Valley region that could benefit from an FQHC? What are the best practices for implementing and running FQHCs? Support drug substance manufacturing processes along with organic process chemistry
Support organic synthesis, optimization, purification, and support drug substance scale-up activities
Utilize analytical techniques such as NMR, LCMs, UPLC,HPLC and have experience working with empower software
Draft and review tech transfer documents, development, reports, etc.
Additional Skills &amp; Qualifications
BS or MS in chemistry with 3+ years in pharmaceutical research or PHD with 0-3 years of experience
Strong experience with analytical instruments HPLC/UPLC, NMR, LCMS and strong knowledge of organic chemistry 
Experience with small-molecule process development and scale up experience
Work Environment:
On site 8am-5pm M-F
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.

This role will lead engineering efforts for complex process-facility projects, including new plant design, facility upgrades, and rehabilitation of high-hazard environments. The Senior Engineer will work closely with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams to deliver projects successfully.
Qualifications

<li>B.S. in Chemical Engineering (minimum)</li>
<li>10+ years’ experience in chemical process engineering</li>
<li>Experience in process development, design, and construction</li>
