We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Robotics Engineer specializing in Robot Perception to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing advanced perception systems for our automated warehouse solutions, and work on topics such as object detection and pose estimation, sensor calibration and fusion, tight integration with robot planning and manipulation, and creating comprehensive datasets from millions of cases handled daily. Additionally, you will work on improving our simulation environments to bridge the gap between simulation and real-world performance using state-of-the-art techniques. Your exceptional software engineering skills will drive the advancement of our robotic perception capabilities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and scalability in our automated warehouse solutions.&nbsp;
What we do&nbsp;&nbsp;
The Vision and Robotics team is dedicated to developing, deploying, and maintaining advanced vision and robotics solutions for our warehouse automation systems. By leveraging our inbound and outbound adapter cells—which connect the storage structure and handle tasks such as depalletizing, singulating cases, and palletizing shipments—we ensure efficient processing and seamless integration with our autonomous robots (Symbots) and AI-powered software. The adapter cells hand over cases to the Symbots, who then place the cases into the storage structure and retrieve them when needed for palletization. Our proven track record in industrial vision and robotics system development, combined with best engineering practices, allows us to continuously push the limits of warehouse automation technology.&nbsp;

What you’ll need&nbsp;&nbsp;

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree (Ph.D. is a plus) in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A publication record in top-tier computer vision and machine learning conferences (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS, CoRL, ICML, ICLR) and journals is a plus.&nbsp;

System Development Division (SDD) is focused on delivering National Defense capabilities by driving mission-focused strategies to develop advanced technology systems enabling enduring products and solutions focused on achieving the customer vision. Our programs deliver sustainable, reliable, and cost-efficient capabilities focused on end-customer needs that function in operationally relevant environments and timeframes. SDD considers the entire lifecycle of the solution, from conceptualization and architecting, through development to deployment, while leveraging novel technologies to deliver first-of-a-kind systems.
SDD is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of advanced multi-function RF systems. You will collaborate with fellow researchers and engineers on multi-disciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions. You may lead development efforts, as needed, in areas of focus including exploration and demonstration of Radar and EW/RF convergence.
In this role, you will design and implement RF hardware for operationally relevant environments, which will require application of your experience in meeting standards of quality, maintainability, and reuse. This position will offer the opportunity for technical leadership, project planning, design, analysis, development, testing, and fielding of capabilities.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated achievements in areas such as: RF, radar, communications systems, RF component specification and selection, analog and digital signal processing, software-defined radios (SDRs), FPGA firmware and hardware development, microcontrollers and embedded processors, physics modeling and simulation, systems engineering, and test &amp; evaluation. This position requires skills in working with multi-disciplinary teams, design, development, and test activities, as well as proficiency in relevant technologies. Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical skills are required. Applicants are expected to be self-motivated, detail oriented and have a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate.
What you will do:

<li>Support development of RF hardware systems through the development lifecycle, from system requirements definition through to delivery</li>

<li>Create hardware designs (with supporting technical justification artifacts) and support assembly, integration, and testing. Activities may include:</li>

<li>Identify and select RF systems components (for example: active and passive devices, antennas, connectors, cables, physical enclosures, etc.)</li>
<li>Conduct supporting analyses to inform/justify decisions (e.g. RF link budgets)</li>

<li>Near term tasking may be related to RF systems for airborne applications, but you may be tasked on other applications as needed</li>
