Job Description Summary The Boys Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire is a dynamic organization that currently supports 200 staff working in 30 Early Childhood and Out of School Time programs with a large geographic footprint. The Associate Teacher position is responsible for upholding and implementing the BGCCNNH mission, supporting children and teachers, and ensuring the health and safety of the children.  Duties Prepare Youth for Success • Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes. • Responds sensitively to the interests, requests, and needs of individual children, interacts positively with children, encourages exploration, and uses positive child guidance strategies. • Provide guidance and role modeling to Club members by planning and outlining curriculum to meetthe individual needs of youth by incorporating elements of an emergent curriculum. • Establishes and maintains program goals to ensure the health and safety of all members. • May ensure the evaluation of Club programs continually, including tracking outcomemetrics; verify that programs/activities respond to member needs and address their gender andcultural diversity. • Uses child observation notes as a tool for curriculum planning, keeps accurate and up-to-date records. •Continuously accounts for the members in their assigned group by name and face. • Oversees implementation of NAEYC standards and GSQ (when applicable), Culture DNA code, as well as BGCCNNH and CCLU rules and policies regarding safety, compliance, and best practices. • Dispenses medications according to company policy, administers first aid as needed; communicates all occurrences to families. • Oversees and assists in cleaning, organizing, and maintaining classroom well-being and upkeep. Program Development, Implementation, and Supervision • Oversees proper record-keeping and weekly reporting, including activities and events conducted in the membership/finance system. Will provide data for input to a Center Director or other applicable staff. •Facilitates open and effective, professional verbal and written communication with families, staff, and children. • Supervises classroom staff, students, and volunteers; provides regular feedback about job performance. • Supports volunteers, practicum students, and staff through modeling techniques and strategies that connect theory to practice. • May lead planning meetings with the teaching team. • May increase the visibility of Club programs via daily schedule postings, announcements of upcoming events through different social media channels, family emails, etc. • Other duties as assigned. We are looking for individuals with youth development experience to help implement educational, enrichment, and recreational activities on a part-time basis. This is a school-year position, with the ability of vacation camp work. Duties Prepare Youth for Success 1.Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes that: -Promotes and stimulates program participation through the delivery of age-appropriate day-to-day activities in accordance with established program expectations. -Assists in orientating new members to the Club's daily scheduling and program expectations (Be Safe, Be Kind, and Take Care). -Provides guidance, role modeling, and constructive feedback to members to promote development and skill building in program area(s). -Demonstrates leadership through consistent use of safety and licensing best practices to ensure proper conduct and safety of members. -Continuously accounts for the members in their assigned group by name, face, and written attendance. -Oversees and assists in cleaning, organizing, and maintaining program space and upkeep. Program Development, Implementation and Supervision 2.Effectively implements and administers programs, services, and activities for members. 3.Monitors and evaluates programs, services, and activities to ensure Club and child safety, quality programs, and good appearance of the branch/site at all times. Ensures that program areas are safe, well-ventilated, and well lit; and that Club equipment is maintained in a good working condition. 4.Ensures the evaluation of Club programs continually, including tracking outcome metrics; verifies that programs/activities respond to member needs and addresses their gender and cultural diversity. 5.Responsible for documenting any problems or issues that may arise on a day-to-day basis through the use of injury/incident reports. 6.Responsible for communicating with child care licensing and DCYF when applicable. 7.Participates in special programs and/or events such as all-staff training days. 8.Participates in staff meetings. 9.Facilitates open and effective, professional verbal and written communication with families, staff, and members. 10.Other duties as assigned. 
 Requirements A group leader in a school-age program shall be at least 17 years of age, and have one of the following: -Experience working with school-age children, totaling 600 hours; -Documentation of at least 3 credits in child development, education, recreation, or other field of study focused on children, awarded by an accredited college or university; -Documentation that she or he is a certified coach; -Documentation of 5 years of parenting experience; or 
-Documentation form or on file with the department that she or he was qualified and employed as a group leader in a school-age program on or before the adoption of these rules in 2022. 
·Employees who are 19 years of age may be assigned to the senior program. 
·Knowledge of youth development. 
·Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems. 
·Ability to communicate with parents/guardians. 
·Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth. 
·Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment. 
·Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications in order to meet Bureau of Childcare licensing requirements. 
·Occasional travel for meetings/training, etc. may be required. 
·May be asked to drive Club van/short bus occasionally. (21 plus years of age only) 
·Must possess a safe driving record and submit a copy of such record to either the Operations Director or human resources department.
