The Estimator is a critical position within Corporate. Estimators are responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project. Estimators must aggressively follow-up with subcontractors to ensure that bids are received. Estimators also work with the Division VP to follow-up on bids and budgets to close the business.
 
Key Responsibilities

<li> Solicits and maintains communication with subcontractors and vendors </li>
<li> Prepares subcontractor bid packages </li>
<li> Transmits addenda and other bid information to subcontractors </li>

<li> Contacts supply houses to obtain additional subcontractor bids </li>
<li> Shows creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing from subcontractors </li>
<li> Submits 100% of bids and budgets by the bid deadline no exceptions </li>
<li> Enters all relevant information into Quickpen and Timberline </li>
<li> Review bid requirements thoroughly and asks follow-up question on every bid </li>
<li> Has a thorough understanding of the scope for specific trades assigned </li>
<li> Develops RFI's and clarifications and ensure adequate subcontractor coverage and shows interest </li>
<li> Performs a comprehensive "bid day" analysis and scoping of specific assigned trades </li>

<li> Creates bid lists that fit scope of job, ensuring that we have the right subs for the project </li>

<li> Complete project kick-off form to ensure compliance </li>

<li> Releases materials for record only when possible </li>
<li> Ensures that subs are aware of (and commit to) the project schedule </li>

Skills / Qualifications / Attributes

<li>Associates degree in business administration or equivalent and five years' related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li>
<li>7+ years of analytical experience required or statistical work equivalent. </li>
<li>Analyzing Information, Developing Budgets, Vendor Relationships, Reporting Skills, Estimating, Decision Making, Teamwork, Documentation Skills, Quality Focus </li>
<li>Must have good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of staff and management </li>
<li>Prior experience in Timberline or Quickpen is a plus. Proficiency working with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Access required. Experience with SharePoint and Bid Tracer is a plus.</li>

NAR is seeking a Estimator to join our growing Solar EPC team! The successful candidate must possess the knowledge, experience and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the design professionals, consultants and clients with a true customer-centric focus. Our associates are driven by the NAR system of excellence and delivering on our commitments by employing highly developed systems of operational coordination.

<li>Receives new project documents and evaluates their contents to understand the project systems, key scope elements and major factors for award </li>
<li>Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, labor and material estimate for projects. </li>
<li>Prepare quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing for material and labor to establish a value for the work </li>
<li>Prepare, distribute and manage request for quotes to subcontractors and suppliers.</li>
<li>Build relationships to understand client, designer and subcontractor need and expectations. </li>
<li>Assist with key internal/external stakeholders to complete design review, fulfill contract requirements, maintain project costs within estimate and meet customer needs. </li>
