Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a System Build and Cable Test Engineer job for our direct client in Newington, NH. In this role, you will support the System Build and Fiber Optic Cable Testing departments by contributing to process development, test procedure documentation, equipment maintenance, operator training, and troubleshooting of non-conforming products. Your work will focus on optical product and systems manufacturing, with an emphasis on improving test process performance and ensuring high-quality standards.
System Build and Cable Test Engineer Job Responsibilities:
- Define, control, and improve test processes and equipment in support of optical systems manufacturing
- Develop and document test procedures, train operators and technicians, and conduct end-of-manufacturing (EOM) studies
- Maintain test hardware and fixturing, monitor calibration, and troubleshoot test failures
- Collaborate with product engineers and R&D designers to develop and implement test solutions and experiments
- Establish statistical process control (SPC) methods and perform data analysis with engineering teams
- Enhance product test throughput and yield to meet production and program goals
- Analyze and compile data from system and block-level testing
- Ensure compliance with Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) policies, including training, procedural integration, and corrective actions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- Experience with manufacturing test setup and operation
- Familiarity with optical testing methodologies and telecommunications systems preferred
- Strong understanding of test procedures and technical computing software
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Working knowledge of test methods, documentation practices, and equipment maintenance
