The role is based in northern Vermont and involves a contract position at a 122-bed facility recognized for its collaborative, team-oriented environment. The unit focuses on adult patients with a range of medical conditions including telemetry monitoring, post-operative care, chronic illnesses, and end-of-life support.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years clinical experience, including at least 1 year in medical-surgical specialty with telemetry
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, Telemetry Certification
• Preferred skills include peripheral IV placement and experience applying, interpreting, and responding to telemetry rhythms
• Comfort with telemetry equipment and monitoring systems such as Sigma IV pumps, CAAD PCA pumps, Kangaroo tube feeders, and Mindray cardiac monitors
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team

Responsibilities:

• Deliver nursing care to adult patients in a telemetry-supported medical-surgical unit
• Apply and interpret telemetry strips; enact appropriate interventions as needed
• Perform procedures including NG tube insertion, peripheral IV insertion, and medication administration using Pyxis systems
• Participate in unit-based teamwork that fosters continuity of care
• Adapt to occasional floating within like units as required

Schedule and Work Environment:

• 12-hour shifts with opportunities to pick up extra 8-hour shifts
• Every other weekend on duty, holiday coverage required
• Self-scheduling through an online program; schedules provided in advance
• Charge nurse role does not include patient assignments
• Free onsite parking, reliable vehicle preferred due to commuting options
