Job DescriptionAbout Sequel Sequel, headquartered in Manchester, New Hampshire, is a company developing the next generation of transformative drug-delivery advancements starting with diabetes. Sequel’s approach is to look at diabetes management holistically to advance systems that make living with diabetes simpler and easier for all. Sequel’s flagship product, the twiist Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) System, launched in July 2025 for people with type 1 diabetes providing them with personalized diabetes management. 
Job Overview
Sequel Med Tech is hiring a Staff Software Engineer as we scale our Enterprise Applications team to support a growing portfolio of complete Enterprise Systems and new software and hardware products.  The ideal candidate for this role will be a T-shaped engineer, with depth in backend development and complex system integration, ideally using platforms such as MuleSoft. They will be hands-on and excited to build great patient-, caregiver-, and clinician-facing products and services to support a rapidly growing medical device startup.   • Develop and maintain high-quality and scalable software solutions for Sequel Med Tech's Business systems across our Enterprise applications and digital product offerings.
  • Collaborate with the product and business teams to understand business requirements, translate them into technical requirements, and deliver solutions that meet both business and technical needs
  • Work closely with other developers to ensure that software is designed and delivered according to best practices and standards
  • Build integrations with external systems using APIs, Integration platforms such as MuleSoft, authentication flows, and data transfer strategies
  • Adhere to Sequel Software Development Practices to ensure that software is developed and maintained in compliance with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, GxP, security requirements, GDPR, etc.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technology trends and best practices, and make recommendations for improvements to software development processes and tools
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure that software is delivered on time, within budget, and meets quality standards
  • Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure that software is of high quality and meets all requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • 6+ years’ experience in software development with a minimum:
  • 5 years’ experience operating in an agile product environment.
  • 5 years’ experience developing integrations solutions using platforms such as MuleSoft.
  • 2 years’ developing / mentoring earlier software engineers
  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Breadth of technology stacks, with experience or demonstrated ability to quickly new technical
  • Familiarity with variety of test automation approaches and tools
  • Strong Mulesoft development skills in Anypoint studio, RAML and Open API Specs
  • Familiarity with cloud/hybrid platforms (AWS, CloudHub).
  • Understanding of API security standards (OAuth 2.0, OpenID, JWT, x509 certificates).
  • Experience with common development tools like Git and Jira, and the ability to determine the right set of tools for the job.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and across disciplines with other developers to design and deliver software to solve patient, clinical, and business needs
  • Experience working within a regulated industry – healthcare experience a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Passion for building great patient-, caregiver-, and clinician-facing products to support a rapidly growing medical devices startup.
  • Awareness of healthcare regulations and ethical considerations related to patient data.
