Job Description

The Senior Systems Administrator is accountable for the configuration, maintenance, and operation of the company’s critical enterprise applications/systems. Recommends and researches enhancements to existing enterprise systems and solutions to evolving business needs. Ensures that operating systems, hardware, software systems, and related operating procedures are updated to meet organizational needs. Design and develop strategies for software deployment. Serve as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex systems. Ensure compliance with the companies Access Control Policy and standards while granting elevated system privileges. Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 IT support via e-mail, phone, and face-to-face contacts. Assist employees with advanced technical questions about products and software. Leverage system expertise to diagnose reported issues and resolve them in a timely and efficient manner. Actively participate in project management research, system implementations, and a wide range of system administrative duties. Monitor the performance of business-critical servers, software, and hardware.

Design, develop, plan, and strategize hardware and software upgrades to support system growth, new system features, enhancements, and updates for employee service delivery channels. Configure internal systems and drive and deliver smooth deployment of new applications.

Direct and administer the day-to-day operational/enterprise system processes. Collaborate with management on complex process improvements.

Install, maintain, modify, and patch PC and software, including the server network, and devices, working with tech support vendors, field engineers, and third-party vendors as necessary. Evaluate, test, and install new products, upgrades, and workflows on the enterprise systems. Test new enhancements/service packs.

Manage and support vendor relationships. Liaison to all outside vendors and support centers to interface with enterprise systems. Collaborate with vendors for issues troubleshooting and updating systems.

Monitor system performance, IT system operations, and storage utilization to minimize downtime. Ensure working conditions of workstations including software license management. Perform enterprise system troubleshooting and routine system maintenance. Report problems to external system providers, such as telecom, web host, and software vendors to resolve. Adhere to IT policy standards for use, operations, and security of network, personal computers, and data.

Ensure and promote the development of IT team members through coaching, training, and mentoring.

Manage and monitor software and hardware, related to email, enterprise systems, FedLine, imaging, and other automated systems. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Tier 2 or Tier 3 employee requests for technical assistance by phone and in person.



Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.


Knowledge and SkillsExperience

Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

A college degree.

Interpersonal Skills

A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.

Other Skills

COMPETENCIES: Must be at least 18 years of age. Favorable Background, Credit, Criminal, Bondability, and Reference Checks required. (Motor Vehicle check dependent on position.) Travel to other branches or locations may be required depending on position. Will be required to work outside of scheduled hours to respond to technology issues.

ADA RequirementsPhysical Requirements

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of travel by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office with minimal noise
