Job Description
Job Description Make an Impact with Iconic Brands
Join our East Longmeadow, MA manufacturing team supporting world‑class tools and innovation. As part of a global organization of 54,000+ teammates, you’ll help craft products behind names like DEWALT, CRAFTSMAN, STANLEY, BLACK+DECKER, IRWIN, and LENOX.
Role Details
- Location: East Longmeadow, MA
- Schedule: 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, 5:00 pm–1:30 am
- Compensation: $21.75–$24.09 per hour
A Day in the Life
Start your shift by verifying micrometer accuracy and recording results. You’ll perform a precise setup on an automatic welding system that bonds carbide tips to pre‑milled band stock. That setup includes aligning electrodes, setting the weld gap, adjusting front and back stops, and dialing in roller guide alignment. From the control panel, you’ll set preheat and weld cycles, manage the carbide feeder, and regulate nitrogen flow and piston air pressure. You’ll also configure guides, vises, and payoff units, and prepare single or multiple grinding head stations to achieve exact rake angles, chamfers, and heights.
Through the shift, you’ll fine‑tune indexing cams, roller drives, and guides; swap wheels and belts; lubricate as needed; and keep coolant and other fluid levels within spec. You’ll set speeds and feeds to maximize throughput without sacrificing quality. Using an overhead electric hoist, you’ll load and unload coils, and move materials with hydraulic and hand trucks. You’ll monitor multiple machines, producing a first‑piece inspection and ongoing checks with an optical comparator and other gauges to maintain profile and dimensional accuracy. You’ll log counts and production data, complete routine maintenance with documented checklists, and keep your area clean and safe.
