Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in a cardiac stepdown/telemetry unit
- Monitor and respond to cardiac telemetry and patient condition changes
- Manage cardiac drips (no titration), heparin protocols, and IV therapies
- Care for post-cardiac surgery, post-MI, post-cath, and TAVR patients
- Administer blood products and manage central lines, PICCs, and chest tubes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, respiratory, and rapid response teams
- Document patient care using Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license (license in hand)
- Minimum 1–2 years of cardiac stepdown/telemetry experience
- Cardiac Telemetry experience required
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Prior travel experience required
- Comfortable floating per unit policy
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required
