Automation & Controls Service Engineering Specialist

Job DescriptionSalary:
Were looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on in the field and working with building automation systems from end to end. In this role, youll support both internal project teams and external customers by engineering, programming, starting up, and troubleshooting building automation and control systems. Youll also help guide Controls Technicians and support ongoing improvements to systems already in place.
What Youll Do
- Prepare engineering submittals for automation projects
- Develop and implement control logic programs
- Create databases, graphics, and accurate as-built documentation
- Select materials and coordinate procurement needs
- Lead system startup, checkout, and commissioning
- Support design/build efforts and retrofit work
- Provide owner training to ensure systems are used effectively
- Mentor Controls Technicians and provide second-level on-call support for building emergencies
This role is primarily field-based and works closely with the Automation Controls Manager.
What You Bring
- Bachelors degree or equivalent hands-on experience
- 5+ years of HVAC controls field experience
- Experience working directly with building owners or end users
- Solid understanding of third-party integration and BAS programming
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP/CRM or ServiceTrade experience is helpful
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and operation sequences
- Strong communication, organization, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining clear follow-through
- Ability to build and maintain positive customer relationships
