Job Description

Job DescriptionStep into a transformative role as a Travel Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery, anchored in the scenic town of Great Barrington, Massachusetts. This is more than a job—it's your opportunity to touch lives at one of the most intimate moments families experience, guiding mothers through labor, supporting newborns with evidence-based care, and shaping outcomes with compassion, skill, and steady presence. In this L&D niche, your expertise will empower families from the first contractions to postpartum recovery, while you cultivate advanced clinical acumen in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. Massachusetts offers not only a vital clinical setting but a tapestry of beauty and culture: the rolling hills of the Berkshires, vibrant fall foliage, outdoor adventures along winding trails, farm-to-table dining, and a wealth of arts and history that make each day inspiring. And for those drawn to exploration, the opportunity to work in diverse locations across the U.S. enhances your professional journey, widening your clinical horizons while maintaining a core commitment to exceptional patient care.

Great Barrington serves as a welcoming base in the southern Berkshire Hills, combining small-town charm with easy access to cultural and outdoor amenities. From the tranquil lakes and scenic byways to nearby larger hubs, you’ll enjoy a balanced lifestyle that supports focused clinical practice. The region is renowned for its community spirit, educational resources, and a pace that honors both professional excellence and personal well-being. If you’re drawn to a setting where collaboration with physicians, midwives, and nursing teams is vibrant—and where you can occasionally extend your adventures to other U.S. locations—this assignment provides an ideal blend of stability and discovery. The travel opportunity opens doors to expanding your network, sharpening your expertise in obstetric emergencies, cesarean delivery support, neonatal stabilization, and lactation consultation, all while you immerse yourself in new hospital cultures and patient populations.

As an L&D Travel RN, you’ll lead and support essential responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. You’ll monitor labor progress and fetal well-being, interpret monitor strips, assist with deliveries, provide neonatal resuscitation when needed, and coordinate postpartum care and discharge planning. Your role includes patient education on pain relief options, lactation support, newborn care, and caregiver guidance, with an emphasis on respectful communication and culturally competent care. You’ll collaborate closely with obstetric teams to implement evidence-based protocols, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and serve as a mentor for newer staff and travel colleagues. Growth opportunities abound in this specialty, whether you’re expanding your expertise in high-risk obstetrics, pursuing leading education roles, or positioning yourself for escalation into clinical educator tracks, all supported by a structured orientation and ongoing coaching. Our program emphasizes seamless integration of new skills, ensuring you feel valued and prepared to deliver the highest standard of care.

This assignment delivers competitive compensation to reflect your expertise, with weekly pay ranging from $2,592 to $2,721. We understand the importance of stability in travel nursing, so we provide comprehensive housing assistance to help you settle quickly and comfortably in a welcoming community. In addition, you’ll have access to a sign-on bonus and the potential for contract extensions, so you can plan your career path with clarity. While the hours are arranged in weekly blocks and guaranteed hours are not specified (0.0), you’ll benefit from predictable scheduling, transparent communication, and the flexibility you need to pursue personal goals while delivering exceptional patient care. To ease the logistics of travel, we offer round-the-clock support from our dedicated team; you’ll have 24/7 assistance as you navigate assignments, licensing requirements, credentialing, and travel arrangements, ensuring you always have trusted help at your side.

The company is committed to empowering its staff through a culture of partnership, continuous learning, and career advancement. You’ll find a supportive work environment that prioritizes mentorship, collaboration, and shared decision-making, with resources for continuing education, competency validation, and performance recognition. We believe in investing in people who devote themselves to patient-centered care, and in cultivating leaders who uplift their teams and communities. This ethos translates into practical benefits: structured orientation, ongoing clinical development, access to peer and leadership mentorship, and opportunities to extend your assignment or explore other roles within the network, all designed to accelerate your professional trajectory while maintaining balance in your life.

If you’re ready to answer the call to advance women’s health and newborn care in a place that respects your craft and your well-being, apply now. This is your chance to join a company that values your expertise, supports your growth, and champions your success across varied settings—from the Berkshires to broader travel opportunities across the United States. Start February 23, 2026, and embark on a rewarding journey that honors your dedication to family, community, and clinical excellence. Take the next step toward a meaningful career chapter where your skills, compassion, and leadership shine, and where you’re surrounded by colleagues who share your devotion to compassionate, expert obstetric and neonatal care.
