Contract Type: Travel

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Nights | 5x8-Hour Shifts (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Schedule: Includes every other weekend (EOW)

Block Schedule: Not available

Compensation for 40 hours:

  • Weekly Gross: $2,400.00 Per Week
  • On W2(Taxable): $800.00 Per Week ($20/hour)
  • Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,600.00 Per Week

Position Summary:

The LTAC Registered Nurse will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with complex, long-term acute medical conditions. The nurse will be responsible for full patient assessments, IV therapy, and collaborating with the care team to manage the care plans for patients in a facility focused on rehabilitation and long-term acute needs. This role is well-suited for experienced med/surg, LTAC, or ICU nurses who are comfortable with a high patient-to-nurse ratio in an overnight setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct complete head-to-toe assessments at the start of care, including patient history, current condition, and response to treatment.
  • Initiate and manage IV lines and infusions as needed. IV certification is preferred but not required (must be comfortable performing IV tasks).
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans. Document all care accurately in WellSky EMR (training provided).
  • Monitor vital signs, lab values, and other key indicators. Promptly report any changes or concerns to the medical team and take appropriate action.
  • Manage a patient load of up to 1:10. Participate in weekend rotations as required by the unit. Maintain flexibility in meeting patient and facility needs.

Requirements:

  • License: Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year in one of the following settings:
  • Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC)
  • Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)
  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
  • Certifications:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
  • IV Certification – Preferred
  • EMR System: WellSky (facility will provide training)
  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Required (Medical/Religious Exemptions accepted)
