Job Description

This position is responsible for APC's internal certification program for IPC-600 as the CIT (Certified Internal Trainer. Assisting in the review and disposition of PWB nonconformities identified at Final Quality Inspection and X-Section Lab. Assisting Quality Engineers with projects and tasks such as data collection, product tracking, etc.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and maintain CIT certificate for IPC-600.
  • Coordinate and maintain employee training and certification records for IPC-600.
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) on IPC-A-600 standards, providing guidance on interpretation and resolving complex inspection disputes.
  • Review, develop, and update inspection procedures, work instructions, and checklists to optimize quality.
  • Train, mentor, and certify inspection staff on proper inspection techniques and standards.
  • This position may require overtime for coverage on alternate shifts and weekends.
  • Follows established safety procedures.
  • Maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.

Requirements:

  • 5–10+ years in electronics manufacturing, specifically in PCB fabrication or assembly.
  • Expert-level knowledge of IPC-A-600 (Acceptability of Printed Boards)
  • Certification training in IPC A600 (Printed Wiring Boards) and ability to obtain CIT (Certified Internal Trainer).
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, engineering drawings, and fabrication specifications.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings to production, engineering, and management.
  • Must be able to use a computer to maintain records, develop reports, and analyze data and document discrepancies as well as using a computer to perform all other related aspects of the position.
