Quality Engineering Technician - $40-45/HR
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections on mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and optical tools.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specs, and GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to verify part compliance.
- Support First Article Inspections (FAI), Incoming Quality Control (IQC), and in-process audits.
- Execute inspection plans and maintain documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
- Create and update inspection records, nonconformance reports (NCRs), and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Use ERP and quality management systems (e.g., NetSuite, Arena, SAP) to log results and track material movement.
- Collaborate with Product Quality Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Supplier Quality teams to support new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp-up.
- Maintain the calibration status of measurement tools and assist in 5S and lean quality initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in quality inspection or technician role within a high-tech or electromechanical manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical inspection techniques, metrology tools, and inspection sampling plans (e.g., AQL).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with proficiency in GD&T.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 QMS principles.
- Familiarity with MRB, FAI, and corrective action workflows.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, R&D and production hybrid setting.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in robotics, aerospace, medical devices, or automotive manufacturing.
- IPC certifications (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) or equivalent experience inspecting PCBs and wiring harnesses.
- Exposure to coordinate measuring machines (CMM), Keyence systems, or laser measurement equipment.
- Familiarity with Arena PLM, NetSuite ERP, or similar digital quality tools.
