Position Overview: 

As a Part-time Automotive Alignment Technician at Hogan Tire & Auto in Westwood, you hold a pivotal position in upholding our commitment to excellence in automotive service. Your role extends beyond technical prowess and professionalism to encompass a deep dedication to providing the highest levels of customer service, guiding customers through informed vehicle repair decisions with transparency and clarity. Your expertise in vehicle repair, combined with a firm grasp of productivity standards sets the standard for operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. 

A Part-time Automotive Alignment Technician performs wheel alignments and related services, including diagnosing and repairing steering and suspension issues. Responsibilities include safely securing vehicles on alignment equipment, performing precise adjustments according to specifications, and handling tire and wheel services like mounting, dismounting, and balancing.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Perform alignments: Use alignment machinery to align vehicles to company specifications.

  • Tire and wheel services: Dismount, mount, and balance tires and wheels, ensuring no damage occurs.

  • Diagnose and repair: Identify and fix issues with steering, suspension, and brakes.

  • Vehicle handling: Safely drive vehicles onto the alignment machine, secure them, and remove them upon completion.

  • Equipment operation: Operate all related equipment and tools as trained.

  • Customer service: Interact with customers, provide service recommendations, and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Documentation: Accurately document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.

  • Inspections: Conduct vehicle maintenance and safety inspections, reporting any necessary repairs or issues.

Qualifications:  

  • Experience in tire mounting, balancing, and basic auto mechanics is strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of suspension and steering systems, including toe, caster, and camber adjustments, is essential

  • Experience with tire equipment, tools, and alignments is required. Experience working with Hunter Alignment equipment is preferred.

  • Demonstrate mastery in automotive service repair, ensuring that vehicles are repaired to meet manufacturer specifications and company's standards of quality and customer experience.  

  • Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with customers in a transparent and informative manner, guiding them through service decisions with clarity and professionalism.  

  • Mentor junior technicians, sharing knowledge and expertise to support their growth and development within the operation.  

  • Collaborate with the service team to streamline operations and ensure the seamless delivery of automotive services that exceed customer expectations.  

  • Manufacturer-trained and/or ASE Certified with a proven record of accomplishment of excellence in vehicle repair and customer service.  

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical information to customers clearly and understandably.  

  • Dedication to upholding the company's standards of excellence in automotive service and customer experience.  

Certifications and Specialized Training

  • SPC Alignment Training or Snap-on Wheel Service Certification, which offer advanced technical instruction in alignment equipment, diagnosis, and precision adjustments

  • ASE Certification in Suspension and Steering (A5) verifies professional competency

  • Other ASE automotive certifications such as brakes (A4) may enhance employability
