A nursing opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Room care. This contract position is based in Bristol, Vermont, offering a supportive environment within a critical access medical centers Emergency Department.
This role demands strong clinical skills and confidence managing a broad patient population ranging from newborns to elderly adults in a 10-14 bed emergency unit. A minimum of two years of clinical experience in emergency nursing is preferred, along with certifications such as ACLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC, NRP, and NIHSS. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with essential emergency procedures including IV insertions, drips and infusions, EKGs, patient transports, and procedural sedation. Experience with patient triage using the ESI scale and handling emergencies like STEMI, stroke, or trauma patients is highly valued. Charge nurse experience and willingness to precept new nurses or participate in ambulance transports are beneficial.
Work schedule options include rotating 12-hour shifts (7a-7p, 11a-11p, 3p-3a, and 7p-7a) with holiday requirements. The role includes working in a fully equipped setting with Alaris IV pumps, Philips monitors, and access to respiratory and anesthesia support 24/7. Documentation utilizes Epic with medication management through Pyxis.
