Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to cover a maternity leave at an elementary school located in Reading, MA. This position runs from mid to late January through April, offering a part-time schedule of three days per week, each consisting of seven hours. The role provides meaningful engagement with a diverse caseload spanning pre-kindergarten through 5th grade, supporting 17 students.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering occupational therapy services tailored to the developmental needs of young learners.
  • Collaborating with educators and support staff to create and implement individualized therapy plans.
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting interventions to optimize outcomes.
  • Communicating effectively with families to ensure consistency of care.

Qualifications and desired experience:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification.
  • Experience in school-based therapy settings with children from Pre K to 5th grade preferred.
  • Familiarity with health care and home health occupational therapy practices is valuable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently during the contract period.
