A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to cover a maternity leave at an elementary school located in Reading, MA. This position runs from mid to late January through April, offering a part-time schedule of three days per week, each consisting of seven hours. The role provides meaningful engagement with a diverse caseload spanning pre-kindergarten through 5th grade, supporting 17 students.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering occupational therapy services tailored to the developmental needs of young learners.
- Collaborating with educators and support staff to create and implement individualized therapy plans.
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting interventions to optimize outcomes.
- Communicating effectively with families to ensure consistency of care.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification.
- Experience in school-based therapy settings with children from Pre K to 5th grade preferred.
- Familiarity with health care and home health occupational therapy practices is valuable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload independently during the contract period.
