Pay Range:

  • Technician III: $22.53/hr (3 years experience)

  • Technician IV: $27.91/hr (7 years experience)

  • Technician V: $34.14/hr (10 years experience)

Position Overview:

Zimmerman Associates, Inc. is seeking Engineering Technicians (Levels III-V) to provide technical and administrative support to the Submarine Maintenance Engineering, Planning and Procurement (SUBMEPP) program. This role plays a critical part in ensuring U.S. Navy submarines remain safe, reliable, and mission-ready through engineered maintenance documentation and lifecycle support.

Key Responsibilities:

    \n
  • Review Technical Work Documents (TWDs) and Availability Work Packages (AWPs) to verify compliance with SUBMEPP Maintenance Standards.
  • \n

  • Conduct engineering and maintenance analysis to ensure proper system function and technical accuracy.
  • \n

  • Perform Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) reviews to optimize maintenance strategies and reduce lifecycle costs.
  • \n

  • Draft, update, validate, and maintain technical documentation for submarine systems.
  • \n

  • Identify gaps in maintenance records and provide technical recommendations.
  • \n

  • Collaborate with Navy customers, shipyard personnel, and engineering teams to resolve maintenance and documentation issues.
  • \n

  • Support program efforts through data collection, report development, and meeting coordination.
  • \n

  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures for accuracy and completeness.
  • \n

Ideal Candidate Has:

    \n
  • Familiarity with Navy maintenance systems (PMS, 3M, WCS)
  • \n

  • Knowledge of submarine Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) systems
  • \n

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • \n

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • \n

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and working in technical/engineering environments
  • \n
