Immediate Opening – Director
Milford Ambulance Service, a municipal EMS third service, has been in operation since 1974. Beginning as a volunteer staff of twenty-seven men and women has evolved to a full-time paid Ambulance Service providing emergency pre-hospital coverage to Milford and the surrounding communities. MAS operates two staffed ambulances and responds to 2,200-plus calls annually. At this time, we are seeking a full-time Director of Ambulance Services.
General:
The Director oversees day-to-day operations to include scheduling, resource allocation and maintaining operational readiness. Financial management responsibilities include budgeting, billing and revenue cycle management as well as making recommendations to the Board of Selectmen on department strategies. Personnel management would include hiring, training, supervising and evaluating EMT's, AEMT's, Paramedics and office personnel. The individual would be responsible for ensuring high standards of patient care in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Another key responsibility involves the development and implementation of department protocols and procedures. This role is highly visible in nature and excellent public relations and/or community engagement experience is required. The incumbent must stay up to date with federal, state and local regulations related to ambulance services to ensure on-going compliance. The Director is considered to be a member, along with the heads of the other municipal departments, of the Town's Senior Management Team. The Director works under the general administrative supervision of, and is accountable to, the Town Administrator. Qualifications / Requirements:
- BA/BS in Emergency Services or closely related field
- Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic Certification; ability to obtain New Hampshire EMS Provider License; American Heart Association ACLS & PALS; recognized CPR certification and valid Driver's License
- Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
- Must have at least 3 year a certified paramedic as prescribed by current NH standards.
- Ten+ (10+) years of experience in EMS with at least five (5) years supervisory experience
