Our client is committed to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality while supplying fresh fruit to retail and wholesale markets. They are seeking a dedicated Food Safety & Compliance Manager to join their team and oversee food safety programs and regulatory compliance.

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Compliance and Food Safety Manager to join our client’s team. This bilingual (Spanish/English) role is hands-on and operationally involved, requiring a professional who can work both in the office and on the production floor. As a small but growing company, the manager will wear many hats, overseeing food safety compliance, audits, training, and quality control support. Strong technical skills are essential, as the role requires managing digital compliance systems accessed via tablets/iPads.

Key Responsibilities of the Bilingual Food Safety & Compliance Manager

• Maintain, enforce, and continuously improve existing food safety and compliance programs, including HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, FDA regulations, and SQF standards.
• Lead and coordinate all regulatory and third-party audits, including the annual DRC audit, ensuring timely and effective corrective actions.
• Manage and deliver comprehensive food safety and compliance training across all departments.
• Supervise and directly manage the Quality Control team while collaborating closely with operations and production staff.
• Oversee digital documentation and compliance tracking through electronic portals and tablets.
• Act as an integral part of daily operations, supporting multiple production shifts and working onsite.
• Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement within a small, fast-paced company environment.
  

Qualifications of the Bilingual Food Safety & Compliance Manager

• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is required due to the predominantly Spanish-speaking workforce.
• 5 to 6 years of experience in food safety and compliance management, ideally within fresh produce repacking, packaging, or distribution.
• Proven knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, FDA regulations, and SQF certification requirements.
• Experience managing audits, corrective actions, and compliance training programs.
• Comfortable working with digital compliance tools and portals on tablets/iPads.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work a 10-hour onsite shift schedule, supporting production shifts from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM and 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, with some flexibility for early or late hours as needed.
  

Work Schedule

• Full-time, onsite role.
• Typical workdays are 10 hours, 5 days per week.
• Production shifts: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM & 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM (some flexibility required).
