We are seeking an experienced Staff Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team and drive the design and development of advanced mechanical systems. This on-site role requires a strong technical leader with deep engineering expertise and proven experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of mechanical engineers.
- Manage performance, feedback, and career growth.
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, and training.
- Drive strategic mechanical engineering initiatives.
- Identify process improvements and new technologies.
- Provide expert technical guidance on complex design challenges.
- Review and approve designs, analyses, and documentation.
- Establish best practices in design, thermal analysis, materials, and manufacturing.
- Coordinate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Support proposals, white papers, and RFIs.
- Collaborate with Program Managers on technical planning.
- Serve as the primary mechanical engineering point of contact.
- Deliver internal and customer technical briefings.
- Contribute to product innovation and continuous improvement.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 15+ years in mechanical engineering; 3–5 years in leadership.
- Strong expertise in mechanical design, thermal analysis, materials, and manufacturing.
- Proven leadership and team-development experience.
- Experience designing manufacturable products.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and project management tools.
- Strong GD&T and system-level analysis knowledge.
- Experience integrating mechanical, electrical, optical, and related systems.
- Familiarity with Lean/continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, API standards.
- Excellent project management and multitasking skills.
- Experience with full product lifecycle development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Teams.
- Proposal writing experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized, analytical, and self-directed.
- Ability to adapt to modern tools and workflows.
- Regular on-site presence required.
- Must be legally authorized to access U.S. government-controlled technology.
