Job Description

The Advancement Coordinator plays a key support role within Granite State Independent Living's (GSIL) Development Department, providing essential administrative, logistical, and research support to advance the organization's fundraising and donor engagement goals. This position contributes to the planning and execution of development initiatives, supports the cultivation of donor and partner relationships, and helps ensure the successful delivery of events and communications in collaboration with internal teams and external consultants.

Essential functions

  • Assist in implementing key components of GSIL's Development Plan by supporting outreach to individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations.
  • Conduct research on donor prospects, corporate sponsors, and grant opportunities; compile profiles and prepare briefing materials for senior staff.
  • Enter, update, and maintain donor records and activity tracking in GSIL's CRM.
  • Support the development of donor and sponsor materials, including acknowledgments.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for GSIL's major fundraising and engagement events.
  • Coordinate vendor communications, event materials, volunteer outreach, and on-site logistics.
  • Create and maintain timelines, checklists, and task assignments to ensure smooth execution of events and campaigns.
  • Assist the COO and Director of Advancement with grant writing tasks, such as gathering attachments, formatting, and submitting applications.
  • Track progress of fundraising initiatives and provide regular updates to the Development Team.
  • Schedule internal and external meetings, prepare agendas, take meeting notes, and follow up on action items.
  • Serve as a point of contact for GSIL's marketing consultants to support alignment between development goals and outreach materials.
  • Help prepare and edit content for newsletters, donor spotlights, social media, and event collateral.
  • Ensure development-related communications are consistent with GSIL's brand and messaging.

Physical/Mental demands

This position requires regular use of computers and standard office equipment, as well as the ability to move throughout the office and attend off-site meetings and events. Occasional lifting

(up to 10 pounds) may be required. Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and discretion are essential.

Travel required

Travel throughout the state to represent GSIL at fundraising events.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in nonprofit development, administrative support, or event coordination.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with donor databases and project management tools preferred.
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and donor stewardship.

Other Duties

  • Participate in general GSIL events and activities.
  • Attend relevant workshops or training to build knowledge and skills in nonprofit development.
  • Support a culture of collaboration, respect, and inclusion within the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned that support GSIL's mission and fundraising goals.
