Job Details
• Highly motivated RN PACU role requiring independent and team work capabilities.
• Advanced knowledge of cardiovascular pathophysiology required.
• Provide and maintain therapeutic environment for patients and families.
• Utilize equipment, supplies, and nursing resources appropriately.
• Foster continuity of patient care and efficient use of resources.
• Facilitate consistent, efficient information flow among all staff.
• Ensure all documentation and billing requirements are met.
• Communicate and educate effectively at all levels.
• Demonstrate and foster high professionalism and collaboration.
• Participate in continuing education and adhere to hospital, department, and regulatory policies including Radiation Safety protocols.
• Participate in research, quality improvement, and other projects within the service.
• Support MGH Mission, Vision, Values, and departmental initiatives.

Job Requirements
• Must have Massachusetts nursing license (no conditional licenses accepted).
• Primary source verification of professional license and/or certification required within 30 days of start date and updated upon expiration.
• Documentation of required immunizations and health screenings including MMR, Influenza vaccine during flu season, TB test within 3 months of start date, Hepatitis B (strongly preferred), Tdap (preferred), and health statement within 365 days of start date.
• Completion of MGB Medication Exam with 80% passing within 365 days.
• Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date and updated annually.
• Criminal background checks including MGB Criminal Background Check, Massachusetts CORI, National Sex Offender Check, Exclusion Checks, and SSN Trace required.
• Must provide 2 recent references, minimum 1 supervisor or above, in skillset.
• Completion of MGB Skills Checklist and Candidate Submission Coversheet required for submission.
• Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation required if fit test is required.
• Education verification required.
• Must adhere to all hospital, department, and regulatory agency policies and standards.

Unit Specific Information
• Role is for RN PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) specialty.
• Advanced knowledge of cardiovascular pathophysiology required.

Additional Details
• AHA, Red Cross, CHSF or Military BLS accepted; AHA preferred by some hospitals.
• No religious exemptions for N95 fit testing.
• Flu vaccine must be documented as PDF; no self-administered flu mist accepted.
• Positive TB test requires chest x-ray documentation indicating no active tuberculosis.
• Background checks vetted via secure/encrypted email by MGH/Security.
