Position Overview
The Bankruptcy Paralegal will assist attorneys in the preparation and management of bankruptcy cases. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can handle a variety of tasks, including drafting legal documents, managing case files, and conducting research to support litigation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparing bankruptcy petitions and related documents
- Manage case files and ensure all documents are properly organized and filed
- Conduct legal research related to bankruptcy law and litigation
- Communicate with clients, creditors, and court personnel as needed
- Prepare and organize exhibits and evidence for court hearings
- Assist in the discovery process by gathering and reviewing documents
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of bankruptcy laws and procedures
- Ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Paralegal certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in bankruptcy law or litigation
- Strong understanding of bankruptcy procedures and laws
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
