The Company:

Family owned and operated athletic business in Massachusetts is looking for a dependable, long-term employee to join our Membership Sales Team.

POSITION REQUIRMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2 years of successful person-to-person sales
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to access all areas of the facility to do tours
  • Ability to multitask

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • This is a full-time position with a flexible work schedule.

POSITION OVERVIEW

  • Membership sales, on boarding of new members, and retention of members is the primary responsibility of this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the sales process of lead generation, follow up, and close
  • Handle member freezes, upgrades and cancellations, always trying to “save” a membership
  • Schedule and conduct tours of the facility
  • Maintain accurate records of member interactions, appointments, and follow-ups
  • Participate in special events to promote the club
  • Responsible for providing professional and effective customer service to existing members by utilizing in-depth knowledge of company offerings and positively impact member retention
  • Maintains up-to-date, in-depth knowledge of MAC offerings, services, and special events
  • Provides timely feedback to Department Heads regarding service failures or customer concerns
  • Assists customers with program location and detailed information when needed
  • Maintains data base information using computer software such as Microsoft Word and Excel as well as industry specific software
  • Achieve or exceed individual membership sales goals by generating referrals, converting inquiries (phone/web) into appointments, and following up with and closing prospects.
  • Implement and adhere to all steps of the Complex’s sales process including assessing the needs of prospective members, providing a value-based presentation of the Club’s brand, programs and services, leading an enthusiastic and informative tour, presenting membership/service options and prices and closing sales
  • Actively develop leads through internet, community outreach and partnerships, corporate visits, referrals, and special events
  • Utilize the lead tracking system to manage sales leads and member service and ensure all data related to prospects and members is input correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Complete new member software data inputs and submit all new member paperwork (Membership Agreement, Health History, Personal Training Policies, etc) before leaving the club the day the member joins
  • Attend and participate in department, club and company meetings, member functions, outside marketing events, and the planning and implementation of promotions
  • Other duties as assigned
