This role involves providing excellent patient care in a 19-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit with a patient-to-staff ratio of approximately 6:1, adjusted based on census. The unit operates primarily on a day shift schedule with a professional team including RNs, CNAs, and sitters to support patient needs. Nurses in this role utilize advanced equipment such as mechanical lifts, Sara steady devices, as well as Baxter and Kangaroo pumps, enhanced by Meditech EMR for documentation and care coordination.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN licensure with experience in Rehabilitation and Medical-Surgical nursing
- Proficiency with IV therapy is required
- Preferred skills in wound care, stroke, and traumatic brain injury management
- BLS certification is mandatory
- A flexible, kind, and thorough approach to patient care is essential
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from various neurological and physical conditions
- Monitor and manage IV therapies and use specialized equipment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality rehabilitation outcomes
- Adhere to unit policies and protocols, maintaining scrubs dress code with plain colors
- Participate in weekend shifts on an alternating schedule
