Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician (Central Service) – Travel/Local
Location: Hyannis, MA
Duration: 13 Weeks (Extension possible)
Schedule: 5 Shifts/Week | 8 Hours/Shift
Shift: Evening/Night Shift
Shift Time: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Rotation: Rotating Days, Weekends, and Holidays (On-Call may be required)

Compensation:

Local Rate:

  • $31/hour

Traveler Package:

  • Gross Weekly: $1,380/week

  • W2 Rate: $17/hour

  • Weekly Stipend: $700/week

Job Summary:

A reputable acute care hospital in Hyannis, MA is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (Central Service) for a 13-week contract assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of decontamination, sterilization, and surgical instrument processing within a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments.

  • Operate sterilization equipment including Steam, ETO, Sterrad, and washer/disinfectors.

  • Ensure proper instrument tracking and documentation.

  • Maintain compliance with infection control and regulatory standards.

  • Prepare case carts and ensure timely delivery to surgical departments.

  • Monitor biological and chemical indicators.

  • Maintain a clean and organized sterile processing environment.

  • Work independently while supporting surgical services and other departments.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • One of the following:

    • Completion of an Anatomy & Physiology course, OR

    • SPD Technician Certification, OR

    • 3 years of recent SPD experience (within the past 5 years).

  • Experience with decontamination, sterilization, and instrument processing.

  • Strong knowledge of SPD equipment including Steam, ETO, Sterrad, and washer/disinfectors.

  • Ability to work independently in a hospital setting.
