Job Summary
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting an organization’s network infrastructure. This role ensures optimal performance, security, and scalability of the network to meet the business's operational needs. The Senior Network Engineer will lead projects, mentor junior staff, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless connectivity and system integration. Additionally, this role includes direct support of the Real Estate and Hospitality divisions, requiring frequent on-site travel to various locations using a company-provided vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
Network Design and Implementation:
- Design and deploy scalable, reliable, and secure network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, WLANs, and VoIP systems.\
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance network performance and security.
- Create and maintain detailed network diagrams and documentation.
System Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Monitor and maintain network performance, availability, and capacity using advanced tools.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure high availability of network services through redundancy, failover configurations, and proactive maintenance.
Support for Real Estate and Hospitality Divisions:
- Provide hands-on support for network infrastructure and IT systems specific to the Real Estate and Hospitality divisions.
- Conduct site visits to troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensure optimal system performance, and implement upgrades.
- Collaborate with division managers to identify IT needs and deliver tailored network solutions.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and encryption standards.
- Monitor for vulnerabilities and apply patches, updates, or changes to mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Project Management:
- Lead network-related projects, from concept to deployment, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide recommendations for network improvements.
Team Collaboration and Mentoring:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers and IT staff.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and support of systems.
Vendor Management:
- Evaluate and manage vendor relationships for hardware, software, and service contracts.
- Negotiate and procure networking equipment and services within budget constraints.
Requirements:
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, CISSP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with network architecture, routing, switching, and security.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN, TCP/IP).
- Familiarity with cloud networking and hybrid environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Ansible) are a plus.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Other Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel frequently to support Real Estate and Hospitality division sites.
- Comfortable with flexible schedules, including occasional after-hours work.
Working Conditions
- This role requires frequent on-site travel to Real Estate and Hospitality division locations using a company-provided vehicle.
- Occasional after-hours work, including nights and weekends, to perform maintenance or respond to outages.
