Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a licensed RN or LPN with experience supporting children with special healthcare needs. This position involves providing transportation nursing care for a non-speaking student diagnosed with autism and seizure disorder.
Location:Work onsite in Waltham, MA, assisting a student with daily transport to and from Beverly School for the Deaf.
Duration and Hours:This contract runs ASAP through June 15th, 2026. The nursing support is required for approximately 1 hour per day during transport times:
- Morning: 7:00 AM pick-up at the student's home and drop-off at school; nurse returns to Waltham.
- Afternoon: 1:00 PM pick-up of the student from school and return to their home in Waltham.
Qualifications:
- Valid MA LPN or RN licensure.
- Experience working with pediatric patients, especially those with autism and seizure disorders.
- Ability to provide attentive, compassionate care during transport.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with the family and school staff.
Responsibilities:
- Safely accompany student during transport to ensure medical needs are managed.
- Monitor the student's condition, including seizure management, throughout daily trips.
- Coordinate communication regarding the student's health status with caregivers and educational personnel.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures.
