AdeptID is a high-growth software company with a cloud-based, API-first AI platform that powers 100M job placements and applications per year, helping employers and staffing firms match talent to jobs at scale. We are a twenty-person hybrid company based in downtown Boston.
As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will:
- Design and implement cloud infrastructure to support our growing distributed systems
- Drive infrastructure-as-code practices and cloud security and compliance standards
- Optimize infrastructure costs while ensuring performance and reliability
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
- Build cloud-native solutions for data processing and ML model hosting
Technical Challenges We're Tackling:
- Scale our AWS infrastructure to handle 300M+ annual job placements across multiple geographic regions
- Implement robust monitoring and alerting for ML model performance and data pipelines
- Develop robust disaster recovery and high-availability systems
- Design secure, compliant systems for handling sensitive data at scale
Our Technical Environment:
- Stack: AWS (ECS, RDS, OpenSearch), CDK, GitHub Actions, Docker, OpenTelementry, Grafana
- Scale: 100M job placements last year, expanding 3-5X across multiple regions
- Team: 6-person engineering team, working closely with ML and platform engineers
- Development practices: Infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, security-first mindset
- Emphasis on automation and self-service developer tools

This Senior Cloud Engineer role:
- Reports to: Head of Engineering, partners with Technical Lead
- Drives infrastructure decisions and implementation
- Key interfaces: Platform engineering team and security stakeholders
Our Ideal Candidate
- 5+ years of DevOps/Cloud engineering experience, with deep AWS expertise
- Strong experience designing scalable, cost-effective cloud architectures
- Strong infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, AWS CDK, or similar)
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment
- Background in building secure, compliant infrastructure for data-intensive applications
