Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years clinical experience, including 1 year in med-surg telemetry
- Current BLS, ACLS, and Telemetry Certification required; peripheral IV placement preferred
- Proven ability to apply, interpret, and respond to telemetry monitoring and patient condition changes
- Comfortable with Epic electronic documentation and Pyxis medication system
- Strong collaboration skills to work alongside nursing assistants, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary teams
Location and Setting:This role is based in Northfield, Vermont, serving a community-focused hospital with a 51-bed med-surg telemetry unit. The hospital emphasizes a supportive and tightly-knit team culture, with resources such as 24/7 respiratory and anesthesia support, advanced monitoring equipment, and on-site parking. Housing may be up to 15 minutes away, so reliable transportation is recommended.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient-centered care to adults requiring telemetry monitoring, post-operative management, and chronic condition support
- Perform bedside procedures including telemetry lead application, peripheral IV insertion, and NG tube placement
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate seamless care plans for patients and families
- Maintain expert knowledge of unit protocols and technology including Sigma IV pumps, cardiac monitors, and PCA pumps
- Participate in staffing rotations with self-scheduling, primarily 12-hour shifts, working every other weekend and some holidaysno call requirements

- Orientation includes 1-2 precepted shifts plus educator support prior to patient assignments
- Floating is infrequent, mostly within like-units; charge nurse role does not have direct patient load
