A day in this role

You arrive to a clean, well-equipped shop and review the job packet. Setup sheets guide your plan: establish machine zeros, load the right tools, and confirm fixtures—sometimes for CNC, sometimes for manual assist. You program at the control, edit as needed, and run complex setups across lathes and mills. Throughout the shift, you’re chasing tenths, verifying squareness and concentricity, and dialing in finishes until the part is exactly to print.

What you’ll handle

  • Set up, operate, edit, and program CNC lathes and/or CNC milling machines
  • Perform multiple complex setups and run a variety of CNC or hybrid machine shop equipment
  • Work to extremely close tolerances while maintaining critical surface finishes
  • Build and install fixture components for CNC jobs and manual-machine operations
  • Establish machine origins/zeros in line with setup instructions
  • Hold tight, correlated dimensions with high demands for squareness, concentricity, finish, and parallelism
  • Set and load all tooling per the setup sheet to complete assigned work
  • Read and interpret blueprints, material requests, method sheets, and other written instructions
  • Use precision measuring instruments to verify features and processes
  • Inspect in-process and finished parts and confirm manufacturing methods meet blueprint specifications

What you bring

  • Hands-on experience with CNC lathes and/or CNC mills
  • Strong blueprint reading capability
  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools

Schedule & pay

Second shift is available. Compensation up to $40.00 per hour, plus a shift differential, based on experience.
