Job DescriptionJob Title: Process TechnicianPosition Overview

We are seeking an experienced Process Technician (Injection Molding Process Technician/Operator) to support our plastics manufacturing operations, including injection, extrusion, and blow molding. This role is responsible for machine setup, process optimization, troubleshooting, and ensuring production meets safety, quality, and throughput targets. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Process Setup & Changeovers • Install and remove molds/dies, connect auxiliary equipment, and verify material, tooling, and downstream components

• Perform job changeovers efficiently and accurately

• Configure process parameters including temperature, pressure, shot size, and cycle time based on approved process sheets

Production & Monitoring • Start up production jobs, monitor machines during operation, and adjust settings to maintain cycle time, first‑pass yield, and throughput

• Apply troubleshooting techniques to resolve part defects, equipment alarms, or material inconsistencies

Quality & Documentation • Perform in‑process inspections using calipers, gauges, and check fixtures

• Halt production and correct issues when quality standards are not met

• Record inspection results and maintain ISO and compliance documentation

Equipment & Maintenance • Complete routine cleaning and system checks on hydraulic, electrical, and auxiliary equipment

• Work with maintenance teams to report problems and support timely repairs

• Maintain work areas according to 5S and LEAN principles

Safety & Collaboration • Follow OSHA safety guidelines, resin‑handling protocols, and company policies

• Support operators during ramp‑up, provide coaching on standard work, and communicate improvement opportunities to engineering

Essential Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years of plastics processing experience, with strong injection molding background (setups, startups, troubleshooting)

• Ability to read and interpret process sheets, work instructions, and basic technical drawings

• Familiarity with scientific molding principles, including process windows, shot size, cooling, and hold pressure

• Proficiency with calipers, gauges, hand tools, HMI controls, and auxiliary equipment (loaders, dryers, grinders, vision systems)

• Ability to stand/walk for most of the shift, lift up to 50 lbs, and work around hot equipment and moving machinery

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field

• RJG or Paulson certification is a plus

• Leadership or mentoring experience is beneficial

Work Environment

• Manufacturing/lab environment

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM

• No weekend shifts

• Requires use of PPE and adherence to all safety protocols

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
