Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts. This long-term contract position will primarily focus on supporting family law cases, with additional responsibilities in business litigation, intellectual property, and employment law. The ideal candidate will possess strong multitasking abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to manage legal documentation and filings efficiently.
Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support to attorneys, managing incoming tasks and prioritizing workloads effectively.
• Prepare and file legal documents, including e-filings, court filings, and 9A filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain and organize case files, both electronically and physically, for easy retrieval and reference.
• Assist in preparing exhibits and other supporting materials for litigation cases.
• Manage calendars and scheduling for attorneys, ensuring deadlines and appointments are met.
• Conduct document retrieval and saving tasks, ensuring proper handling and confidentiality.
• Support overflow work related to business litigation, intellectual property, and employment law.
• Collaborate with attorneys and other support staff to streamline workflows and maintain efficiency.
• Utilize technology tools effectively to enhance productivity and manage case-related tasks.
• Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and third parties as needed.• Proven experience with e-filing and civil litigation processes.
• Strong proficiency in calendar management and scheduling.
• Familiarity with court filing procedures and legal documentation.
• Ability to prepare, organize, and retrieve exhibits and case materials.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Tech-savviness and ability to adapt to various software tools.
• Strong multitasking abilities and capability to handle competing priorities.
