Responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to assist with the clean-out of a legacy billing system. This role will focus on reviewing, managing, and resolving outstanding insurance denials and appeals to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing practices, payer guidelines, and denial management workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze outstanding claims from the legacy system.
  • Identify and categorize denials by type and payer.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate appeals to insurance companies.
  • Follow up on appealed claims to ensure resolution and payment.
  • Document all actions taken in the billing system and maintain clear records.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (coding, providers, and billing) to resolve complex denials.
  • Monitor trends in denials and recommend process improvements.
  • Assist with data cleanup and reconciliation efforts related to the legacy system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills Needed

  • 3+ years of EPIC experience.
  • 2-3+ years of experience working in a multi-specialty ambulatory clinic handling medical billing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies and understand the claims process.
  • Proficiency in medical billing and healthcare systems.

Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong claims processing experience- full cycle for 3+ years

Schedule will be Hybrid – 1 day/week onsite after training (training typically a few weeks).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
