Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist (RT) is an essential member of the healthcare team, demonstrating clinical expertise, professionalism, and effective communication when working with patients and colleagues. This role involves delivering age-appropriate respiratory care to a diverse patient population while adhering to established standards of practice and organizational policies. The position operates within a facility that provides 24-hour respiratory coverage, with no on-call requirements.

Under the direction of licensed practitioners and the supervision of Cardiopulmonary Services leadership, the Respiratory Therapist delivers diagnostic and therapeutic cardiopulmonary services in accordance with provider orders and departmental policies within a critical access hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic and diagnostic cardiopulmonary care as prescribed
  • Deliver safe, age-appropriate respiratory care to patients across the lifespan
  • Adhere to professional standards of practice and organizational policies
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Demonstrate sound clinical judgment in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Utilize electronic systems and clinical software as required

Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program
  • Active New Hampshire respiratory care license or compact license (must be in hand at time of application)

Certifications

  • BLS (CPR)
  • ACLS
  • NBRC credential
  • PALS
  • NRP (preferred)

Experience & Skills

  • Knowledge of evidence-based respiratory care practices
  • Strong understanding of respiratory physiology and pathology
  • Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Clinical experience preferred; new graduates considered
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude
