Adecco Staffing is working with a manufacturing company in Contoocook, NH to bring on a Manufacturing Applications Engineer. This is a direct hire, exempt position supporting customer growth by bridging technical expertise across sales, estimating, engineering, and operations in a high-mix manufacturing environment.

This role is ideal for an experienced manufacturing or applications engineer who enjoys customer-facing technical work, RFQs, DFM, and driving manufacturable, cost-effective solutions from quote through production.

Position: Manufacturing Applications Engineer
Shift: Monday – Friday (day shift)
Pay: $90,000–$125,000 annually, depending on experience

Duties / Responsibilities

Engineering & Technical Support
• Apply hands-on manufacturing knowledge to develop manufacturable customer solutions
• Interpret 2D drawings and 3D CAD models (SolidWorks or similar), including GD&T requirements
• Provide DFM guidance to customers and internal teams
• Support job cost vs. estimate reviews to improve quoting accuracy
• Identify productivity, quality, and cost improvement opportunities
• Maintain proficiency in the company’s MRP system to support estimating and production activities
• Analyze job performance data and support continuous improvement initiatives

Commercial & Customer Support
• Support RFQs and proposal development in collaboration with Sales and Estimating
• Provide technical input to develop competitive, accurate quotes
• Assist with new customer development through technical research and engagement
• Support customer inquiries and route opportunities appropriately
• Work with Metals and Additive estimating teams to prioritize RFQs
• Follow up with customers on quoted work outcomes to improve win rates
• Participate in customer calls, emails, and occasional site visits

Operational Support
• Verify work instructions and processes align with customer requirements
• Support knowledge transfer between locations or suppliers
• Assist with productivity, quality, and delivery improvement initiatives
• Escalate operational risks or delays to appropriate stakeholders
• Support safety, organization, and quality standards on the shop floor

Additional Responsibilities
• Support supplier and partner evaluations related to pricing, lead time, and quality
• Contribute to safety, quality, and competency training initiatives
• Provide technical guidance to teammates to support successful job execution
• Promote a collaborative, solutions-focused team culture

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, applications engineering, estimating, or technical sales
• Experience in a high-mix manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong working knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, additive manufacturing, and assembly
• Solid understanding of GD&T, DFM principles, and manufacturing cost drivers
• Experience supporting RFQs, technical proposals, and customer-facing engineering discussions
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems; Mie Trak preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

Physical Requirements / Work Environment
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods when supporting operations
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs occasionally
• Ability to operate computers, tools, and equipment
• Ability to visually inspect parts and technical drawings

Pay Details: $90,000.00 to $125,000.00 per year
