Role: Medical Assistant | Specialty: Primary Care | Openings: 1
Location: Watertown, MA 02472
Pay: $25-$27/hr
Schedule: 24-32 hours/week
- 32 hours: Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5pm or 8am-5pm
- 24 hours: Tuesday-Thursday 8:30am-5pm or 8am-5pm
About the practice:
- 3 providers and 2 NPs. There is always 3 providers working per day
- Each provider sees about 16 patients per day
- There is parking onsite!
- They have a phlebotomist on-site so phlebotomy is not required
Requirements:
- 1 year experience in primary care REQUIRED
- National certification huge plus - they do give vaccines
- 2-3 years experience as a MA
- National Cert preferred, but open to experienced MA's with MA diploma/cert
- High School graduate/GED.
- Must know how to take vital signs and history
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be proficient with the use of computers
- Ability to perform each essential function consistently and with minimal supervision by utilizing the learned skills
Responsibilities:
- Rooms patients when they arrive for visits, checks vitals and obtains and documents accurate vital signs, height, weight, blood pressure, pain level and allergies.
- Ensure that pre-visit paperwork has been completed.
- Point of Care testing, telephone triage.
- Gives immunizations, only if nationally certified.
- Maintains neat, clean and safe exam rooms and treatment areas
- Patient care areas are clean, organized, and ready for patients
- Alerts provider when the patient is ready to be seen and communicates all pertinent clinical information.
- Assist patients with check-out process.
- Cleans and prepares exam room for next patient.
