Robert Half Legal Permanent Placement is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Legal Assistant in Probate to join our team in Wellesley, MA. This role focuses on providing comprehensive support to our estate planning and probate team, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional client service. You will handle a mix of administrative and legal tasks, contributing to the preparation and management of sensitive estate matters. 1-day WFH.


Responsibilities:

• Draft and review probate-related documents, including petitions, inventories, motions, and trust distributions.

• Prepare and file legal documents with probate courts while adhering to strict deadlines and compliance requirements.

• Maintain organized case files, both digitally and physically, for easy access to wills, trust documents, and other legal records.

• Assist in preparing case summaries, agendas, and affidavits for client meetings and court appearances.

• Manage scheduling and coordinate appointments, ensuring calendars are up-to-date and workflows are streamlined.

• Conduct basic legal research to support case preparation using tools such as Westlaw.

• Collaborate with beneficiaries, court officials, financial institutions, and other parties to gather critical information and resolve inquiries.

• Support the attorney and paralegals in administrative tasks to improve operational efficiency.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, with a focus on probate and estate administration.
• Proficiency in e-filing and familiarity with court filing systems.
• Strong organizational skills to manage calendars and multiple deadlines effectively.
• Knowledge of probate law and trusts and estates processes.
• Ability to draft legal documents with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills for client interactions and coordination with third parties.
• Experience with legal research tools such as Westlaw.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
