Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring MA licensure and AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a busy 65-bed, pod-based Emergency Department serving adult patients
  • Patient population includes all age groups and acuity levels
  • Typical clinician to patient ratio is 1:4
  • Department averages 230 patient visits per day
  • Night shift schedule is 19:00-07:30 with every other weekend required
  • Use of EPIC EMR (ASAP module) is required
  • Floating to other units may be required
  • No rotating shifts for this night position
  • Responsibilities include providing comprehensive nursing care for a diverse ED patient population, including acute mental health cases
  • Team-based environment with support from a multidisciplinary staff
  • RTO must be submitted at the time of application
  • First time travelers are accepted
  • Local candidates must have permanent residence at least 60 miles from central Boston
  • Expected to comply with respirator fit testing, parking costs, and timekeeping protocols as instructed

\n \n Requirements\n

  • Active, unencumbered RN license from Massachusetts required by start date; MA conditional licenses not accepted
  • Minimum of 2 years recent emergency nursing experience required
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (all must be AHA), TNCC strongly preferred, NRP preferred
  • Ability to perform general ED skills including assessment, documentation, IV, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point of care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education
  • Proof of completed primary COVID-19 vaccination series and annual flu vaccination are required with no exceptions
  • Two recent professional references required
  • Primary source license verification through NURSYS and BON is required
