Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical unit, requiring at least 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience and Epic proficiency.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Work in a hospital Medical Surgical unit with an adolescent and adult patient population
- Patient diagnoses include a range of medical and surgical cases, with a focus on orthopedic injuries, neuro-spine, and post-op care
- Typical patient ratio is 1:5
- Night shift position with four 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend
- Floating required to like units, including ICU, ED, and other Med/Surg units
- Utilizes Epic EMR, Epic experience required
- Orientation consists of 24 hours
- Team-based care model with Helping Hands and Team Nursing approach
- Responsibilities include assisting with patient sitting and floating for support across units
- Charge nurse experience is preferred
- Scrubs of any color or style are acceptable
- Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a reduced rate

- Active NH or compact RN license required
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Medical Surgical nursing
- Current BCLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
- Completion of at least 1 hour of stroke education
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with peripheral line care, IV starts, and surgical drain management
- No consideration for first-time travelers
- Candidates who have previously worked at facilities associated with SolutionHealth are not eligible
- Two professional references required at time of consideration
