Counsel - Real Estate Transactional/Environmental

Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Real Estate Transactional & Environmental Counsel to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will provide legal advice and support on real estate transactions and environmental matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while mitigating potential risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel on real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing.
  • Advise on environmental compliance matters related to the purchase and sale of real estate, including RCRA and CERCLA regulations.
  • Assist in zoning and land use matters, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Evaluate business transactions for environmental risks and liabilities, offering strategic advice to minimize exposure.
  • Represent the company in negotiations with regulatory agencies regarding environmental issues and compliance matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support real estate and environmental decision-making processes.
  • Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to real estate and environmental transactions.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in real estate transactional law and environmental law.
  • Strong understanding of RCRA, CERCLA, zoning, and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Experience in handling business transactions and environmental risk assessments.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
