32hrs: Sun 9a-3p, Mon 7a-3p, Tue-Thu 7a-3p (Plus $2/hr weekend differential)

Position: Assistant Manager (GLE) FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Various Group Living Locations Dept/Div: Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS)

Supervised by: Program Manager

Supervision Exercised: To all staff assigned to program in the absence of the Program Manager or as assigned by the Program Manager.


General Statement of Duties: To provide rehabilitation and support services to Persons being served in ACCS and to do so in a manner that promotes growth, independence and dignity for those individuals served.


Responsibilities:

Direct Care

1. Attend to the daily needs of persons served on an individual basis as well as foster increased independence and self-determination.

2. Deliver interventions identified on Treatment Plans and with mentoring from licensed clinicians.

3. Teach socialization skills and Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s), which include but are not limited to household maintenance, laundry, grocery shopping, food preparation, medication management, money management, personal care, exercise, transportation, problem solving skills, time management, and safety/self preservation.

4. Follow the Department of Public Health’s (DPH) Medication Administration Program (MAP) policies, which include, but are not limited to training requirements, medication administration, medication security, and corresponding documentation.

5. Supervise and document consumer self-administration of medications as prescribed by a physician in accordance with agency and program procedures.

6. Develop, implement, and monitor group and individual activities which serve to integrate the lives of the consumers with members of the community.

7. Fulfill case management responsibilities as assigned by supervisor, including those related to medical and legal concerns.

8. Assist in the implementation of Individualized Action Plans (IAP’s) including implementation of behavioral objectives/plans.

9. Provide and document a monthly house meeting with Persons Served.

10. Participate in meetings as required by supervisor.

11. Participate in housekeeping and other assigned tasks to ensure a clean, safe living environment for persons served.

12. Transport individuals served to and from day programs, medical appointments and other activities as required.

13. Act as individuals’ advocate and role model.


Communication, Documentation & Teamwork

14. Follow funder and agency protocol for reporting significant incidents and alleged abuse and/or neglect.

15. Record data by the conclusion of each shift. Documentation requirements include, but are not limited to daily service notes, staff communication log, financial audits, and medication records.

16. Facilitate and document fire drills as instructed by the program manager or designee.

17. Audit and take action to maintain a current and accurate medication supply in collaboration with the Pharmacy, Program Nurse, and Manager.

18. Oversee menu planning and grocery shopping following program budget and MA in Motion guidelines.

19. Ensure the program van is maintained and fill the gas tank weekly.

20. Assign and oversee monthly cleaning checklists for completion. Follow up on outstanding cleaning assignments.

21. Ensure person served safety and compliance with program standards for staff coverage, including assistance to the Administrator-On-Call whenever possible.

22. Maintain knowledge of ongoing program issues and developments as well as informing supervisor of program issues and concerns.

23. Communicate in a professional and respectful manner.

24. Assist with training and orienting employees new to the program.

25. Treat all individuals, employees, and visitors with respect and dignity.

26. Attend and participate in scheduled staff meetings.


Other

27. Follow funder regulations and adhere to all BAMSI policies.

28. Understand and utilize universal/standard precautions and instructions on how to stay safe in areas that constitute risk, including following persons served Risk and Safety Plans as applicable.

29. Complete all other related work duties as needed or as assigned by supervisor.

30. Obtain required training within allotted time frames.

31. Assist the Program Manager, or in the absence of the Program Manager, will assume the following:

· Daily management of program and supervision of staff consistent with existing program standards and philosophy, including management of consumer funds and medications.

· Ensure staff familiarity and follow through with all components of the IAP, including auditing service notes for accuracy and completing billing activities.

· Ensure staff adherence to program and agency policies and procedures.

· Provide formal supervision and complete administrative documentation as required.

· Ensure that staff coverage is maintained according to program standards.


Qualifications:

· A bachelor’s or associate degree in human service field plus experience working with a disabled population; or

· Four years work experience with a disabled population, two years of which must be with a mentally ill population.

· Basic computer literacy, including the ability to record data, use electronic medical records, use electronic time and attendance software, and receive and send electronic mail, is required.

· Effective listening and critical thinking skills.

· A valid driver's license in state of residence and satisfactory driving record.

· Ability to speak and write English clearly and accurately to keep documentation up to date and understandable.

· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with persons served, families, service providers and funding source personnel.

· Ability to reach, bend, stand, sit, and walk; perform fine motor activities.

· Preference given to candidates with lived experience and fluency in languages prevalent in Southeastern MA.
