Job Description
Medical Director/Practice Chair - Outpatient Primary Care - Lancaster, NHResponsible for the clinical and medical practices of the Physician Practices. Works closely with senior leadership to assure appropriate integration of group practice activities. Must be willing to make site visits to practice locations.
- Medical Director duties: 16 hours/week
- Primary Care responsibilities: 24 hours/week (2.5 hours documentation; 21.5 hours direct patient care)
- Full-time outpatient position with leadership/division chair interest
- Minimum 5 years outpatient primary care practice experience
- Ideally seeking provider planning to stay 5-10 years minimum
- Patient volume: 20-24 patients per day
- Community call including local nursing home patients (TBD)
- EMR system: Meditech Expanse, Dragon dictation
- Support: RN team leader and designated MA
- Excellent IT and marketing support to build volume and wRVU performance

- Lead the physician practice providers in clinical care and quality
- Act as mentor for practice providers
- Coordinate medical staff education
- Participate in institutional planning, operations, and management of group practice
- Ensure compliance with mission, policies, and bylaws in collaboration with CEO, CMO, and VP of Physician Practices
- Provide input on outpatient practice policies with leadership and clinical managers
- Collaborate on personnel matters affecting providers
- Coordinate medical staff grievance process and mediate disputes
- Ensure provider compliance with RHC regulations
- Address grievances and complaints from patients and others
- Assist with medical staff recruitment
- Monitor provider dashboards; identify improvement opportunities
- Participate in strategic planning and system integration
- Serve as liaison with community partners
- Collaborate on peer reviews and quality initiatives
- Act as ACO medical champion and drive value-based program outcomes
- Serve as EMR superuser and advocate for solutions
- Champion controlled substance best practices
- Identify and address social determinants of health and community wellness needs
