Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter for a telehealth contract position in a school setting. This role is based in Derry, NH, and operates under a 1099 contract arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation services during telehealth sessions for students with hearing impairments.
- Facilitate clear communication between students, educators, and healthcare professionals in virtual environments.
- Adapt interpreting strategies to accommodate individual student needs and various telehealth platforms.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries in compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience interpreting in educational or telehealth contexts.
- Strong understanding of telecommunication tools and ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues.
- Ability to work independently, managing schedules and client interactions effectively.
- Familiarity with school systems and special education terminology is highly desirable.
- Certification or accreditation in sign language interpretation preferred.
