This role involves supporting the development and testing of drug-device combination products. The ideal candidate will perform mechanical assembly and test operations, develop and document work instructions, conduct engineering testing, analyze data, and author reports. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on assembly method development, testing, and failure analysis in the research lab.
  • Engage in documentation, technical report writing, design control, and data analysis.
  • Operate lab equipment, build prototypes, and develop processes.
  • Develop and author illustrative work instructions for assembly and test processes.
  • Conduct studies and data analyses, and prepare reports on research and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures related to clinical supply chain manufacturing.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical assembly and laboratory skills.
  • Ability to create procedures suitable for R&D.
  • Proficiency in using basic tools such as syringe pumps and balances.
  • Expertise in tensile testing.
  • Basic understanding of biomaterials.
  • Experience in the life sciences industry with GMP/GLPs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline such as chemical, mechanical, biomedical, or materials engineering, with a preference for mechanical focus.
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical and/or device industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) is advantageous.
  • Experience in GMP and Design Control (CFR-820) and ISO13485 regulated environments is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail in documentation.
  • Ability to efficiently multitask under time constraints.
  • Capability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Positive, self-driven work ethic.
  • Experience with Gage R&R Studies, Process Capability Studies, and Designs of Experiments.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control.
  • Experience with Minitab.

Work Environment

This position requires onsite presence five days a week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Lexington, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
