JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer to join one of our clients in the biotech industry. This engineer will play a key role in designing, maintaining, and scaling an enterprise-level cloud and on-prem infrastructure environment. The ideal candidate is a proactive, strategic thinker who can own complex solutions, collaborate across IT teams, and drive innovation in a mission-critical environment. This is a hands-on engineering role supporting high availability systems, automation efforts, modern authentication, virtualization, storage, cloud services, and enterprise security initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain, and optimize enterprise cloud and on-prem infrastructure systems across the entire solution delivery lifecycle — from requirements and architecture to deployment and support.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, and performance of mission-critical systems.
- Develop automation scripts, implementation plans, and testing procedures to support reliable operations.
- Perform system hardening, patching, configuration management, monitoring, and alerting.
- Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues and coordinate with vendors and internal teams as needed.
- Manage virtualization solutions (VMware/ESXi), enterprise storage, and backup technologies to ensure robust capacity and performance.
- Administer Microsoft Server environments, Active Directory, Entra ID, Office 365, Azure, AWS, and authentication technologies (LDAP, SAML, NPS, SSO).
- Support network segmentation, firewall standards, ACLs, VPN, DNS, DHCP, FTP, SMTP, NFS, SNMP, BGP, SSH, and SFTP.
- Provide Tier 3 escalation support in partnership with the Service Desk.
- Evaluate new technologies, recommend improvements, and lead modernization initiatives.
- Mentor team members and support cross-functional collaboration within the IT organization.
- Conduct security reviews, inspections, and monitoring to mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- 8+ years of experience with Windows server administration
- Experience with VMware, Entra ID, and Azure resources.
- Advanced understanding of networking and storage
- Hands-on scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
