We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team in a busy dental clinic. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support to our dental professionals, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow while delivering exceptional patient care. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience and CDA preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
- Maintain accurate patient records and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and perform administrative duties as needed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure high-quality patient care in areas such as prosthodontics and pediatric dentistry.
- Utilize dental software systems, including FUSE, for managing patient information efficiently.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as FUSE
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry and proficiency in medical documentation practices.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude towards learning new techniques and procedures within the dental field.
- Certification or training in dental assisting is a plus but not mandatory.
