Medication Specialist

Job DescriptionNorth Suffolk is looking for a Medication Specialist to join our team! The Medication Specialist will be responsible for the health, safety and quality of life of individuals in a residential setting through advocacy, teaching and coordinating care, and managing medication documentation.

What you’ll do:

• Supervise and/or participate with individuals, based on their needs in medication, observation, documentation, refilling medications.
• Audit the medication binder on a weekly basis and report any errors.
• Assist individuals with medication documentation and medical appointments.
• Document and maintain all individual records including making med sheets when new medications arrive.
• Work directly with Nurse Manager/Case Manager.
• Print off medication lists to send off with clients.
• Participate in upkeep of medication room, supplies and sharps removals.
• Attend trainings and receive weekly clinically supervision from the Nurse Manager.

What you’ll need:

• Education: High school degree or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to receive certifications required.
• Experience: One year experience working in a setting with medication observation or dispensing preferred.
• Skills: Must be capable of intervening during crisis situations.
